Hello everyone,
Today I'll be making a quick post about getting the hard stuff done on any to-do list first. What this does for you is it gets the thing that you know will be nagging you at the back of your mind while you're focusing on other things.
Let's focus on homework for this example. Let's say you have to study for a math test, finish up a history report, and you have to find citations for an English book essay. You know that you're great at math, so you have nothing to worry about. For your history report, you're already about 3/4 of the way done with just the conclusion left. However for your English book essay, finding citations will be hard as you have very complex thesis points. While it may be easier to study for math and finish your report first, the best decision for you to make is to find the citations.
An easy way to decide what to do first and go in order of the things that will be the most difficult for you is making a chart like this:
Assignment Time Given
English book essay citations 1) 1 Hour
Studying for Math Test 3) 20 minutes
Finishing history report 2) 30 minutes
Think of which one will be the most difficult to get done, and number them in order of difficulty/importance. Give yourself a fair amount of time to do each assignment, and try to get in under that estimated time, giving yourself an even bigger achievement. Keep in mind that if you start on one thing thinking it's the hardest, but then have another assignment stuck in the back of your head nagging at you, feel free to switch and come back to it later.
Above, I numbered the assignments in order of importance/difficulty. Normally the ones that you have given yourself the most time to do will be the hardest, although that's not always the case. If you add up the times you've given yourself, it gives you a better understanding of what you have to do and reduces most of the overwhelming factors with having a lot of work (although in the example it's not a lot.)
Another thing regarding breaks in work. It's fine to do them (I'm actually taking one right now in order to post this) but not right smack in the middle of the difficult assignment. If I've just started finding the citations, and I decide to take a break, how am I going to get done? Once you're done with the hard stuff and have easy things left, then it's perfectly alright to take a break. You deserved it! Just keep in mind the time you gave yourself. If you go over the time you give yourself due to your procrastination in taking breaks, that's not good. However, if you go over the time you gave yourself because it was harder than you expected, no worries. Just remember that it was harder than you had imagined next time you go to do something similar.
I think that's about it - please comment if you have any questions, leave me a tweet, or drop me a Direct Message on Twitter.

Bad Day Are Nothing To Worry About
Hey everyone,
Today, although the topic may not pertain to your particular situation at this very moment, I'm going to post some things about bad days. We all have them, and sometimes it seems pretty overwhelming when they come around.
The most important priority that you have to know is that things are not as bad as they seem. Sure, you got a bad grade on a test, or you're sure you did badly, or perhaps you're having a fight with your best friend, you got grounded, etc. etc. -- the problems are endless, as unfortunate as it may seem. However, it's not the end of the world! Some problems are easy to fix, and others aren't, but can be prevented from happening again. Before I move on, here are the ways you can figure out how to solve a problem, using these steps:
1) Figure out what the problem is.
2) Find the root of the problem. Let's say you're always blamed for talking in a subject. You know that you're not just going to be randomly talking in a subject, so you have to dig deeper. Ask yourself "why does this happen?" Sometimes you have to ask yourself many why's until you finally find the root. That's perfectly fine. :)
3) Figure out if you can solve the problem, prevent it from happening again, a combination of both, or if you just have to live with it.
4) If there is an adult that can help and that you trust, think to yourself who would it be and how they could help.
5) If you're already convinced that this is a problem that has to be solved right away, skip this step. If you are not, try to convince yourself that this is important in order to do well. Think how it will help you in the short run and the long run.
6) Think up of a solution that is possible to do and has the least amount of negative consequences.
7) Be sure to think of the consequences of the solution before putting it into action
8) Act on your solution.
9) Think about the consequences afterwards, and if something went wrong, make sure you do not do it again.
Bad days usually circulate from problems, and so that's the reason why I included the above. If you've had the bad day for a different reason than before, then just think of it this way: you're one step ahead of the game. To put it in simple terms, you probably won't make the mistake you made again, since now you're aware of it. It's better to mess up when you're younger, so when you're an adult, things don't get hectic when you mess up then.
If the bad day is for the same reason before, don't beat yourself up! We all make mistakes and if you make the same one twice it's nothing to be too upset over. If anything, now you'll be able to clearly know what mistakes are easy to catch and what are not, and you'll be more able to catch the ones that are difficult.
Just remember that things will be better tomorrow. The only way that the day could not be better the next day is if you continuously beat yourself up about what you did yesterday or the day before. It's like you're telling a cloud of misery to just hang above your head. It's not nature that's giving you that cloud, it's you yourself.
Bad days can be blown out of proportion if you're under pressure or have had repeated bad days. Don't worry, still. Put it out of your mind for the day, and then when you're done with everything else that needs to be done, think about how you can improve. (:
This was a pretty long post... so apologies for that. Hope this helps anyone who needs it.

Pappy

Happy Pi Day!
Hello everyone,
Figure I might as well squeeze a post in. Regardless, this goes out to everyone who lives in the USA:
HAPPY PI DAY!
Be sure to celebrate with some pie, hope that your math teachers don't go berserk, and have fun. For those of you who are not in America, Pi Day happens every once a year on the day of March 14, as the date is 3/14. Pi is 3.14159365.... However, typically when using pi in equations or any math problem, we shorten it to 3.14, hence the date and name.
My math teacher had tie-died her own pi shirt... I have to get me one of those.
Anyway, once again happy pi day to everyone in America. I have to get back to finishing some work, so I'll post tomorrow at the soonest.
Ah! I almost forgot. I'm going to be doing a 'Tip of the Day' every day from now on. I will post these on my Twitter account as well. Here you are:
Tip of the Day: If a friend or friends are in a heated argument, do everyone a favor and don't get involved. Drama is a huge thing in high school and people who join in things like that usually wind up regretting it; it causes more tension and more irritation if people join in on things that wasn't their problem to begin with. In addition to that, if someone asks you something about said argument or drama that wasn't your problem to begin with, kindly say that it's not your story to tell. Even though the person may be irritated with you, it's the right thing to do. Never tell a story that isn't yours to tell, especially if it's about someone in your grade/school. Rumors spread quicker than wildfire, and things can get muddled up from texts, whispers, phone calls, and everything else.
That's it for today. Have a wonderful day (or what's left of it) everyone.
Regards,
Pappy

Greetings.
Hello everyone,
Welcome to my newly created blog. I mentioned on my Twitter account that I would in fact be creating one sooner or later, and although not much has been done yet as I just created it a few minutes ago, I will be adding some more things in the not too distant future.
My name's Pappy. I work for a little game called Wiglington & Wenks, and am fairly well known amongst the gaming community, although the community I'm referring to is a bit tight knit together. Regardless, I'm going to be posting about anything that comes to my mind, be it drawings, quotes, tweets, photographs that I took, advice, and anything else -- as the title of my blog indicates -- under the sun.
This is just an introductory post, so nothing new yet. However, in the future I'll be posting more and more and hopefully will finally figure out how to navigate around everything. In any case, welcome to my blog! Feel free to comment with ideas or anything that comes to your mind as well. I'm always open to new ideas!

Pappy
